Texas Drought
The drought has taken two of our big Pin Oaks in the front yard. We had them cut down this week, and Shannon is going to cut them up and haul them off. It is a sad seen. I love trees. We are trying to save the big one right in front of our house.
Jordan at Texas Children's
We had another doctor's visit with Jordan's new plastic surgeon in Houston. We discussed doing the lip surgery that we talked about earlier. It will be a touch up and hopefully help with the appearance of the lip. We also saw a dermatologist at Texas Children's and discussed doing a laser treatment at the same time. So, right now, she is scheduled to have these two procedures done on December 10. I haven't told her yet, because I haven't come to grips with it myself. This is a difficult decision to make.

PreK
After many prayers, we decided that the twins will start PreK in Fayetteville. Fortunately their class is a young class, so they fit right in. They were extremely excited on the first day of school. Shannon took them to their room for me, and they didn't even cry. They did great all week. I am so proud of both of them. Jordan also started dance on Monday. She was very shy there.
They helped me clean the house on Saturday before school started.
First day of PreK.
Jordan, ready for dance.

Last Day of Swimming Lessons
I never would have thought the kids would be doing this on the last day of swimming lessons. Actually, I didn't think they would be going to swimming lessons this year because of Jordan's surgery. It turned out to be a good summer, and I am thankful they were able to get these lessons. They have blossomed.
She tried to teach them to go feet first!!

Cinderella
We took the kids to Brenham to see a performance of Cinderella. Winston did enjoy the program, but did not want to take any pictures. Jordan loved the Fairy Godmother and Cinderella.

Vacation Bible School
Last week the kids went to Vacation Bible School at our church in Fayetteville.
They loved it and it was a nice break for me. They learned about angels.
Friday night they had a closing ceremony. This is their group making their entrance.
Winston on stage singing. He did a great job.
New Plastic Surgeon
Well, Shannon and I took Jordan to a plastic surgeon at Texas Children's in Houston. His name is Dr. Hollier and I really liked him. This was his first time seeing Jordan. After listening to what went wrong, he said he wouldn't worry about fixing her nose right now. He would focus on improving the appearance of her lip and that scar. Then he recommended having some laser treatment on her cheek. He said that is what is most noticeable, and for social reasons, that should be fixed first. Those procedures would be short and quick. He said that Jordan needs to get the last nose surgery in her past and that he would not do anything for several years. He never said exactly how he would repair her nose, but he doesn't think he would do another flap (I was happy to hear that). I asked if her nose would look deformed as she grows, and he couldn't say for certain. He did say that when the time comes to fix her nose, he would be working with a team of doctors. He admitted that it is not going to be an easy fix. He told us to continue to message Jordan's forehead scar and to keep sunscreen on it. He said that may need a little repair later on. When he walked out of the door, he looked at me and said things can only get better from here...but they didn't, was my response...they will, was the end of our conversation. Tears filled my eyes, and my heart was filled with hope.
So, who do you trust? Why didn't I get a second opinion right away? These questions keep going through my head. I trust God to lead me from here, and I must leave all the rest in the past.
Last week I interviewed and was offered a teaching position in Fayetteville. I happily accepted, and I am excited to be so close to home. The kids will be turning four, and I was going to start them in PreK. Now that Jordan may be having touch up surgery, I am just not ready. So, I am looking for a great place for my children to stay for one more year.
I have to say something about my faith, because God pulled me out of ANOTHER storm. When you are going through it, you never understand the whys. I am weak and became angry after all that Jordan had to go through, but God worked through my family and pulled me right out of that bitterness. I knew that I could not stay there long. I fought every day for about a month to get rid of so much anger and disappointment, I focused on what I do have, and one day I felt His peace again. God will get this glory.

Jordan is something special.

Dinosaur Park
Yesterday I took the kids to the Dinosaur Park in Bastrop. It was HOT!!! The kids enjoyed looking at the dinosaurs. We then went to the dentist. They were not very cooperative there. Jordan went into panic mode when they did her exam and thank God my mom was there for her, because I would have too. She doesn't want anyone touching her, and I think I feel the same way. They did discover that she is cutting a six year molar. Wow, that is early! Because Winston witnessed Jordan's exam, he was hesitant to open his mouth but then did okay. We were all glad to be out of there.

Second Opinion For Jordan
As you can see, Jordan is healing and looks pretty good. We have scheduled an appointment with a plastic surgeon at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. At this point, we are only going for a second opinion. I still have so many emotions about why this happened and not sure that we will ever get answers.
