A Long Day

Yesterday my mom and I took Jordan to Houston for a plastic surgeon and dermatologist appointment.  We saw the plastic surgeon first, and Jordan was extremely shy.  I know she was really nervous.  Jordan wanted me to tell him that she didn't like her lip or the scar on her forehead.  He showed me how her lip was lining up since the last surgery and said the redness above her lip is the hemangioma.  She did not have her lip lasered  last time since he touched it up.  He also said the scar on her head would most likely not get any better.  He said that since Jordan wants it fixed, that is what he will do. Jordan's forehead scar turned white and that is not a good sign of improvement.  He said he could make it look better, but she will always have a scar there.  I mentioned that the ENT found a hole in her right ear, and if it needed to be patched, I wanted to know if that could be done at the same time.  He said maybe, but we would have to see an ENT there.  So, he got us an appointment that  day.

Our next appointment was the dermatologist.  We all agreed that the last laser treatment did an amazing job.  We discussed doing it again.  She said that they could use a different laser to help with the scar tissue on her lip.  Dr. Wright will use two lasers this time.  This was an easy visit.

Next we were told to walk two blocks to our ENT appointment.  When we got there, it was two thirty.  I had to fill out a mountain of paper work in a extremely loud waiting room.  I was getting tired and grouchy, and so was Jordan.  We were finally called back an hour later and seen by a nurse practitioner.  She did not see any holes in Jordan's eardrums but wanted to be sure.  Jordan was given detailed  hearing test.  She has some negative pressure in her ears. She is borderline normal as to what she can hear.  After the hearing test, we saw a doctor.  He did not see any holes in her eardrums and said we will not need to patch anything.  We will need to continue follow ups with her regular ENT to watch the negative pressure.  That was a relief.

We then had to walk back to the car.  When we pulled out of the parking lot it was five o'clock.  Traffic was backed up but moving.  It took us two hours to get to Columbus which is not that bad.  We ate, and Jordan and I got home at 8:00.

Surgery is tentatively scheduled for July 15 depending on both doctor's schedules.  What a day!
